A trip to the zoo

Last weekend we went the zoo. Greg and I are friends of the zoo (no comments please) and we received 2 free passes, so last Sunday after church we took Nana and Papa to the zoo. We had a great time! Jadyn usually only lasts though either Africa or Australia, so we went to Africa because that is where the bigger animals are. Jadyn wanted to walk around most of the zoo - she made the entire Africa loop! It was a good thing though because halfway through our stroller broke! You should know, I hate the stroller. I've hated it since day 1 but we like the infant seat that comes with it so we've made do, but now I just MAY finally have the excuse I need to get a new stroller! Yay for me!

Anyway, when we first arrived at the zoo the KC fire department had trucks set up for the kids to crawl though. Daddy is a former fireman so it was cool to let Jadyn walk through the truck with her Papa. They are good buddies anyway :)

We made sure to cross the suspension bridge to visit the gorilla off of Africa. We just missed the zoo keeper chat at the gorilla, but he was still posing for pictures. Greg had the camera and got a couple of Papa, Jadyn, and the gorilla. It was hard to get all 3 of them to cooperate :)

Before the stroller died we did have Jadyn in it. She isn't happy because she wants to be running, but I snapped a picture of her bossing us around anyway. That's my little strong-willed jelly bean!

She is a cutie - that's for sure. Well, that just about wraps up our zoo adventures! We had a good time and are waiting anxiously to go back! Yay!

BOWS!!

Jadyn came to me tonight with her bucket of bows and kept handing me bows to put in her hair, so I happily obliged! She is so stinking cute! Anyway, she wore her hair like this until bedtime. I just love this little girl and I'm so EXCITED that summer is here and I get to spend lots and lots of time with her!

We are family

Last Wednesday was Loribelle's birthday! We had dessert over at Kyle and Megan's house and the kiddos had a great time playing! Here are few pictures of their adventures:

I tried to update on May 4th and the blogger wouldn't let me do it! So, I decided I was mad at it on May 5th and I'm trying again today; however, you should know that my opening line on May 4th was:
May the 4th be with you.

Ha ha ha. Okay, so I'm slap happy tonight...deal with it! My allergies went CRAZY last night and I haven't been able to breathe all day....maybe the lack of oxygen is getting to me!

It is crazy crazy crazy around here. Greg is wrapping up his last few weeks of his long-term sub job, I am fighting the craziness that is SENIORS and other students who have senioritis.   We are all ready for summer and I'm especially ready for all my extra time with my sweet baby Jadyn!
We haven't taken a ton of pictures lately, but here are a few:
I found a Star Wars Return of the Jedi shirt for Jadyn to wear! Greg was very excited!

Jadyn's Grandma Carmen got her this cutie jacket.

We had to bring the carseat inside for a few days. Jadyn thought it was the greatest toy ever!!

She seriously is the cutest thing in the world. :)

A few new pics

We bought a new camera for a couple of reasons: 1. To have better pictures of Jadyn (and other babies to come) and 2. For great pictures in Europe. WE are now desperately trying to learn how to use the camera. It has all these settings and just all kinds of things. Here are a few pictures we have snapped over the past few days! Enjoy!

 My Pretty girl!

My little 18mth old!

Jadyn celebrated her 18mth "birthday" on Thursday of last week. She had a special dinner and then a bowl of whipped cream for dessert. :) Oh, then she found an applesauce and decided that she needed it...

 
Saturday we went to the zoo. It was too crazy busy for super cute pictures, but she did ride the carousel for the first time and LOVED it. Make sure you watch her face in the pictures. You see she wasn't sure at first and then got more and more excited!

 

Sunday night Al, Lisa, Daniel, and Joey came over for dinner. They were super kind and brought their wagon so we got to take Jadyn out! She loved it! Here are a few pictures of her with the boys!

Easter

This should be called Spring Break Part II, but it rolls over into Easter, so I thought Easter was a more appropriate title :) When we left off I told you we were getting ready to do some fun things. We tried.

Friday: We got up and went to the zoo. We got to the zoo at 9:30 and headed back to Africa. At 9:45 black clouds were hanging overhead, so we decided that we should head back up to the main part of the zoo. Halfway across the bridge it started pouring. We all got soaked. So, we went home.

Friday afternoon: We decided to check out the fairy tale exhibit at Crown Center.... along with half of Kansas City.

Saturday: We had lunch with my Mom, then went to the mall. We went home after the mall so Jadyn could take her nap. Saturday night we went to my parents house for game night! It was fun.

Sunday: We went to church and then to lunch.

Sunday afternoon we went to my parents house for an Easter egg hunt and Easter dinner. We also ended up playing more games.

All in all we had a great time! I'm anxious to get back to the zoo. I'd like to see more of the animals not just the ones running for shelter.
