Happy Black Friday!

We had a great Thanksgiving Yesterday. My cousin Eric and his family came to my Mom's for Thanksgiving this year. It has been a few years since we have seen them so it was great! They have 4 kids so we had a houseful! Their youngest was born the day after Carter. Anyway, we had fun. Here are a few pictures I captured from the day.

My Mom made cupcakes for the kids to decorate as one of the desserts. Jadyn was with her Papa and together they "ate" the decorations. Jadyn has a sweet tooth like you wouldn't believe!

Jadyn had icing all over her mouth...and she LOVED it. The girl cracks me up!











This is Carter, Jadyn's cousin (my brother's youngest). Carter loves cake. He always eats it with his hands. Again, absolutely cracks me up!

The other picture is Jadyn playing with a chair I think my Dad brought back from Haiti. It is a small chair and she likes to sit in it and bang her feet against the floor. Yesterday, she figured out she could also pick up the chair and carry it...if she would walk.

This last picture is so cool! This is Grandad (My Mom's Dad) with all of his Great-Grandkids.

This morning Mom and I went to the Legends and we took Jadyn with us. Jadyn got up at 7 and we left at 7:30. We had a good time and I only got snippy with one person who dared to ask me why I got Jadyn up so early. In case you are wondering JADYN GOT UP ON HER OWN AT 7. JUST LIKE SHE DOES EVERY DAY. :)

I have the cutest little girl! I just love her. She is doing so many new and cute things. In the mornings now when she wakes up she babbles for a long time and then when she is ready to get up she starts yelling " DA-DA" It is so sweet! Greg usually jumps right up (with a HUGE grin on his face) to get her... he's not a proud Daddy or anything!






Jadyn still won't wear shoes but she loves trying to put my shoes on her feet. It is hard to get a picture of it because whenever she sees the camera she stops to smile. Maybe, I've taken a few too many pictures... Oh well.

 

 

She also has discovered the joys of an empty milk jug. She carries them wherever she goes banging them on the ground, or together, or on our heads... It's great! This particular evening she got herself wedged between the fridge and the step stool!

She had spaghetti the other night. Need I say more? Oh wait, I decided to let her feed herself. Just so you know I was successful at getting all the spaghetti out of her  shirt!

 

We had a few birthday parties last week. Jadyn's cousin Carter turned 2 on November 1st. His birthday party was a hayride...it was 75 degrees that day! Awesome! We also went to Nelson's birthday party November 7th. Nelson is her surrogate big brother :). His party was at Dave's gymnastics. Jadyn had a good time crawling around and playing in the foam pit!

Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Jadyn had two costumes this year and I took pictures of both. She is in a new music class that meets once a week and our first week was the 29th so it was Wear your costume night. She had a good time. We are going with one of my high school friends and her twin daughters. They are a year older than Jadyn. Jadyn wore her other costume on Halloween. She spent the evening at Aunt Kathy's while Greg and I sponsored a bonfire and hayride at my parents for school.

Okay okay, I know the only reason you people check this is for the pictures...so here they are :)

I also took her picture with the pumpkins when we brought them home. She is so stinking cute!

First Ear Infection :(

Jadyn had her first ear infection this week. We discovered it was more than nothing on Wednesday. My Mom and I took her to urgent care Wednesday morning to discover that her left ear was buldging. The doc put her on penicillin and sent us on our way. Wednesday night she broke out in a rash (meaning she was possibly allergic to the penicillin). After a lengthy conversation with the on-call doc we decided not to take her to Children's Mercy but to wait it out for the night. The next morning we took her back to the doctors office to discover that the ear infection was in both ears BUT the rash was a fever rash. Thursday afternoon her fever broke and she has been better ever since. She is still rather cranky at times, but overall she is much more like herself. Greg and I are both pretty tired. I need to remember to tell my Mom and Dad thanks for all the times they had to stay up with me to keep me more comfortable!

She did learn to play in her chair while she was sick. My parents got her this adorable chair that she loves to play with. She discovered Thursday that she can get comfortable to read books or stand up on it to look out the window!

My parents also got Jadyn a Mizzou jersey and stocking hat. We thought she may bring good luck to the Tigers as they played Texas...but we all know that didn't work. Anyway, regardless of your college loyalty you MUST admit that she looks pretty darn cute in her jersey!

Life is better at the Franz's. Thankfully, Jadyn likes her medicine so it is easy to give it to her. She is getting better each day and we are considering ourselves blessed to have such a cute little girl!

Oh, did you notice I already put up a Christmas background? I have decided this year that I don't just want Christmas cuteness for 3 weeks but for much much longer! I even already put up my Christmas bulletin board at school :)

Happy Birthday to Jadyn

Jadyn's birthday was last week. I can't believe she is 1! She had a great weekend of celebrations. Her birthday party (the big shindig) was Sunday night at my parents house. We had a great time! Lots of our friends and family were there to help us celebrate! Here are a few pictures from that night!

This is Jadyn's monkey cake. We had a monkey "theme" for her birthday. I don't know if she even loves monkeys...but I do :)

Here are a few pictures of Jadyn opening her presents. She did pretty well until she was more interested in playing with her cousins than opening her gifts... I think she did well for her first time!





One of her presents was a slide, which she loves, but (thankfully) cannot figure out how to do it by herself. We love helping her slide.... for awhile :). Yes, MOM, we let her slide as much as we went even after our backs hurt...

I just like the next picture. Although you can't really see him that's my Dad Jadyn is sitting beside (she ADORES her Papa...It is so cute!) Jadyn got his BLUE eyes... I have them too, but Jadyn and my Dad's eyes are identical!


Jadyn isn't really into cake, but she loves ice cream (probably because that's how I gained every pound of my pregnancy weight...). She is eating ice cream with Aunt Kathy and laughing at Uncle Rod!


This is my precious Grandad, Leon aka Shorty. He loves me lots and he loves Jadyn too! I'm so happy that this picture is cute of us...even if Jadyn isn't really cooperating!


There you have it! We had a great weekend. We have no room for her presents but we (by we I mean me...but I'm trying to be polite) are trying to get things organized and put away. God is good to have blessed us with such a wonderful daughter! We love you Jadyn!
