Graduation and Christmas

Well, I am now the proud wife of a college graduate! Greg graduated on Dec 12 and he did so with honors. I am so proud of him for sticking with it and working hard to earn great grades! I told him I want both of us to always be able to tell our kids that we did our best...even if we didn't want to!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year! Jadyn is old enough to rip open presents...although she loses her focus after about one gift. She was definitely more interested in playing with her cousins than opening presents, but she is loving playing with the loot she brought home! She is such a sweet girl! She opened a new tea set from my cousin Lori and she likes to pour the tea into the cup and then give it to her doll (from Kyle and Megan) to drink! It really is sweet!

We spent Christmas Eve at my parents house, thankfully, because there was a ton of snow Christmas Day! We had plans to go outside and play but the 20 degree temps have kept us inside! I really don't want a sick baby and playing in the snow just doesn't seem worth it! Anyway, we did come home Christmas night and did our little family Christmas! It was fun to do this for the first time and we look forward to the new tradition for many years to come. We were snowed in the day after Christmas and finally, with the help of some slightly higher temps, Greg was able to dig us out! I was desperately needing to hit some after Christmas sales! I'm glad we did because I was able to snag some cute stockings for our family for next year (hopefully we will be in a new house that has a fire place by then!).

We have totally enjoyed being home together and I am dreading my return to school! Oh well, I must teach the youngsters! Greg has applied for a long-term sub position in Lee's Summit so we are anxiously waiting for him to hear back on that! Otherwise, he will sub whenever he can and focus on getting a full-time job for next school year! Everyone keeps telling him he should have no problems getting a job...we are just super anxious for him to get a contract!

Well, I promise that I will get back to a once-a-week update so don't give up on me and keep checking back for new pictures of my sweet little baby girl!

 We got her a puppy on a string...yes, it is the closest she will EVER get to having a puppy!

This just might be my favorite picture! She had a bath over at Nana and Papa's house on Christmas Eve...we gave her crazy hair! I think she looks like a Who!

Santa Baby

Well, we went down to see our favorite Santa again this year because last year's experience was so good! However, she has not reached the "scared of Santa age" and we got some GREAT screaming pictures! I must say that the Santa was very sweet and just kept talking to Jadyn trying to get her to calm down.

I screamed every year I saw Santa. Mom says it's just pay backs :)

Christmas dresses

We had more pictures of Jadyn taken. This time we did them in her Christmas dresses. She has three dresses but we only made it into 2 dresses at the photo shoot. We got a lot of super cute pictures.  Jadyn is very photogenic when she is happy :).

 

 

 

Thanksgiving...Part II

Saturday night we celebrated Thanksgiving with Greg's grandparents and his Uncle & fam. It was a good time! Jadyn had a ton of fun crawling all over the place and playing. We all played games and just sat around and talked. My favorite was Mall Madness... "Hey Scott"... anyhoo he had fun! Here are a few pictures from our adventure. JOEY AND DANIEL... MY GOAL at Christmas is to get a picture of you guys with Jadyn. I didn't accomplish this at Thanksgiving so I am giving you the burden. :)

Happy Black Friday!

We had a great Thanksgiving Yesterday. My cousin Eric and his family came to my Mom's for Thanksgiving this year. It has been a few years since we have seen them so it was great! They have 4 kids so we had a houseful! Their youngest was born the day after Carter. Anyway, we had fun. Here are a few pictures I captured from the day.

My Mom made cupcakes for the kids to decorate as one of the desserts. Jadyn was with her Papa and together they "ate" the decorations. Jadyn has a sweet tooth like you wouldn't believe!

Jadyn had icing all over her mouth...and she LOVED it. The girl cracks me up!











This is Carter, Jadyn's cousin (my brother's youngest). Carter loves cake. He always eats it with his hands. Again, absolutely cracks me up!

The other picture is Jadyn playing with a chair I think my Dad brought back from Haiti. It is a small chair and she likes to sit in it and bang her feet against the floor. Yesterday, she figured out she could also pick up the chair and carry it...if she would walk.

This last picture is so cool! This is Grandad (My Mom's Dad) with all of his Great-Grandkids.

This morning Mom and I went to the Legends and we took Jadyn with us. Jadyn got up at 7 and we left at 7:30. We had a good time and I only got snippy with one person who dared to ask me why I got Jadyn up so early. In case you are wondering JADYN GOT UP ON HER OWN AT 7. JUST LIKE SHE DOES EVERY DAY. :)

I have the cutest little girl! I just love her. She is doing so many new and cute things. In the mornings now when she wakes up she babbles for a long time and then when she is ready to get up she starts yelling " DA-DA" It is so sweet! Greg usually jumps right up (with a HUGE grin on his face) to get her... he's not a proud Daddy or anything!






Jadyn still won't wear shoes but she loves trying to put my shoes on her feet. It is hard to get a picture of it because whenever she sees the camera she stops to smile. Maybe, I've taken a few too many pictures... Oh well.

 

 

She also has discovered the joys of an empty milk jug. She carries them wherever she goes banging them on the ground, or together, or on our heads... It's great! This particular evening she got herself wedged between the fridge and the step stool!

She had spaghetti the other night. Need I say more? Oh wait, I decided to let her feed herself. Just so you know I was successful at getting all the spaghetti out of her  shirt!
